Kellogg’s Brings Back Premiums

In a move generating widespread nostalgia, according to the NY Post, Kellogg’s announced the return of toys and collectible premiums inside cereal boxes for the first time in more than a decade. The promotion, tied to Disney and Pixar’s upcoming Toy Story 5, includes collectible spoons, trading cards, and other in-box items across several cereal brands.

The initiative reflects renewed recognition among marketers of the emotional and behavioral power of tangible rewards and collectibles. Long before digital loyalty programs, cereal box premiums were one of the earliest and most successful examples of habit-building consumer engagement and reward-driven brand affinity. Kellogg’s revival of the format suggests that physical rewards and surprise-based engagement still retain significant power in an increasingly digital marketplace and enhanced impact measurement capabilities.

Boundless, Austin, announced the acquisition of wet paint group (wpg), a company known for experiential gifting, live event activations, and on-site branded experiences. The move expands Boundless’ capabilities in immersive brand engagement and experiential marketing.

According to Boundless, the acquisition strengthens its ability to deliver “high-touch” brand experiences that combine merchandise, events, and audience engagement. The companies say the deal reflects continued convergence between traditional promotional products, experiential marketing, and employee/customer engagement services.

The new “Workday Recognition provided by Achievers” offering integrates peer recognition, rewards redemption, and AI-powered workforce insights directly into the Workday HCM platform.
